The Spark in the Circuit: Akhils' Journey to Affordable Innovation
Akhil A.R. embarked on his engineering journey with a B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, starting as an intern at the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). His thirst for innovation soon led him to Tech Mahindra, where he honed his software development skills for a year as a Google translation software engineer. Driven by a desire for broader experience, Akhils transitioned to Juniper Networks. There, for three years, he thrived as a Software Engineer 1, supporting both internal projects and clients like Lenovo. The allure of new horizons called, and Akhils moved to Dubai. Working as a Full-Stack Developer for Nike within the GMG Group, he broadened his global perspective. But his entrepreneurial spirit couldn't be contained. Throughout his professional journey, Akhils nurtured a side hustle: building websites and applications. He completed over 25 projects across the GCC and India. He witnessed firsthand the high cost of software development, often a barrier for smaller businesses.
Inspired by this observation, Akhils identified a compelling opportunity: democratizing software development. He envisioned a world where innovation wasn't limited by exorbitant costs. Fueled by this passion, he established Horitio, a registered Indian company that operates globally. Horitio's mission: to provide top-notch software solutions at affordable prices, eradicating the "looting" he witnessed in the IT sector.
